LAMINAR FLOW CLEAN BENCHES:
TEST STANDARD: Institute of Environmental Science & Technology (IEST) Laminar Flow Clean Air Devices.
TEST PROCEDURE: HEPA filter installation leak test, air flow velocity test, and smoke test to challenge back-streaming of uncleaned air. Minor adjustments necessary to bring unit to standard and/or manufacturer's specification.
TEST FREQUENCY: Upon installation, when moved, after repairs, and at least annually.
   
CHEMICAL FUME HOODS:
TEST STANDARD:

Scientific Equipment & Furniture Association
Scientific Apparatus Makers Association (SAMA)
ASHRAE Standard

TEST PROCEDURE: Room conditions, face velocities in grid pattern, airflow smoke pattern test, and evolution of air flow monitors. Minor adjustments (except for roof-top blower units) as necessary.
TEST FREQUENCY: OSHA recommends quarterly testing if not monitored.
   
BIOLOGICAL SAFETY CABINETS:
TEST STANDARD: National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) or Manufacturers Specification.
TEST PROCEDURE: Downflow velocity and volume, inflow velocity, airflow smoke patterns, and HEPA filter leak tests. Minor adjustments necessary to bring unit to standard or manufacturer's specification.
TEST FREQUENCY: Upon installation, when moved, after repairs, and at least annually. Semi-annual testing required for certain applications.
   
DECONTAMINATION & REPAIRS:
  Decontamination and repairs, including parts replacement, available for all biological safety cabinets, laminar flow devices, and fume hoods.
